on a glorious summer's evening (4/7/19), court robert welcomed the lovely ladies of bryngwyn womens institute.
arriving promptly at 3:45pm, the ladies enjoyed a selection of handmade cakes, teas and coffees in the sculpture courtyard. having gone down a treat, the ladies then enjoyed a tour of court robert by marketing assistant megan.
the ladies of the wi had a real insight into life at court robert and were able to view the exhibits after hours (by prior arrangement). if you'd like to arrange a group visit, during or after our opening hours, please get in touch by telephone or email. we'd love to hear from you!
the team are excited to announce the launch of the court robert self-service tearoom!
the tearoom, located in the part-time ceramics room, is open to the public daily. visitors are able to help themselves to a variety of nespresso coffee, a selection of teas and flapjacks. There's also gluten free biscuits available. for special events, there'll be homemade cakes too!

Megan, marketing assistant, and isobel, casting assistant, carried out stewarding duties on behalf of christine baxter at national trust property greys court in early june.
the girls had a wonderful day of viewing members of the oxford sculptors group work and engaging with visitors. the variety and standard of the pieces were awe inspiring.
megan and isobel thoroughly enjoyed strolling through the gardens (when it wasn't raining!) and reading about the history of greys court.

March 1st - a national holiday in Wales celebrating patron saint, david.
Traditional festivities include wearing daffodils and leeks, recognised symbols of Wales and Saint David respectively, eating traditional Welsh food including cawl and Welsh rarebit, and women wearing traditional Welsh dress. An increasing number of cities and towns across Wales including Cardiff, Swansea and Aberystwyth also put on parades throughout the day.
court robert arts wanted to add to the festivities too, by holding a st. David's day themed giveaway. we offered people to be in with a chance of winning a steel cut-out welsh dragon. we saw over 100 people enter over on our facebook page, but our winner was... cheryl davies. congratulations!
we'll be hosting more giveaways in the future, so make sure you like our facebook page to know when they're happening!

although we had a busy end to 2018, with the success of our first christmas craft fair, resident sculptor christine baxter shows no sign of slowing down.
christine is currently working on almost a dozen new sculptures ready for the 2019 sculpture show season and has recently launched her miniature collection!
'I started my career for Disney making miniature toy pieces. I've always loved working on miniature scale and in recent years I have developed a range of animals sculptures on a larger scale and felt I'd like to go back to making miniatures because I enjoyed it.
I love the fact you can pick them up and handle them and explore their little characters'.- Christine Baxter, on her miniature collection.' -Christine Baxter, on her recent launch.
handmade in her court robert studio, these bronze resin sculptures would make the perfect birthday, wedding, anniversary, baby shower and new baby gift. plus, they're perfect for collecting!
from bruno the brown bear to henrietta the british hedgehog, the personality of these sculptures shines through. there are more editions of the miniature collection in the pipeline so stay-tuned by signing up to our newsletter and following us on social media (@courtrobertarts)
